Q: Is a Volkswagen New Beetle a good first car for a new driver?
I have my permit and hopefully I’ll get a car soon after I have my license next year. Would a VW New Beetle coupe be a good choice for its overall performance and safety? The starting price for a new 2010 model is around $19,000 so would that be economically reasonable? Any other info would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

A: VW New beetle, Mini, Fiat 500 are all good if you like retro style and huge MPGs. they are a little pricey for their size though

Q: Is the Volkswagen New beetle a good car?
i just found a 2005 new beetle convertible for a good price and low milage (under 50K!!!). i have heard good, and bad things about the beetle. i was wondering if it is a good car to buy? im only driving it to and from college and its not that far away. is it a reliable car or should i just buy a jetta?

A: You also should compare car insurance quotes for cars before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: what car would be better to buy, a mustang or a new volkswagen beetle?
well, i’m a girl and i’m going to buy my first car in less than a year and i’m stumped on which one to choose. I know that both cars are great but i dnt wanna be stuck with one and regret it. i’ve always wanted a mustang because it is such a hot car but i’m also kind of a hippy so i thought the beetle would be good. Soo i need some opinions of which one i should get.

A: two completely different cars, I think the Beetle will suit you better.

Q: What infant car seat will work in the new Volkswagen beetle convertible?

A: I have an 04 beetle convertible.

And really any carseat works.
I’ve had about three different ones and they were all fine.

Q: What type of flower goes into the flower spot of a new volkswagen beetle?

A: I believe that traditionally it is a daisy but I think that you could put whatever makes you feel good. It’s your car…enjoy it as you will.

Q: Why wasn’t the new or reintroduced VW Volkswagen Beetle made with air cooled engine like the earlier bug?
As above, when they started making the new beetle 10 years back or so, why not use air cooled engine like the old VW bug? Why hasn’t any carmaker used air cooled engine since then?

A: THE NEW BEETLE WAS THE FIRST CAR SOLD IN AMERICA BUILT ON THE THEN NEW GOLF PLATFORM.
VW WOULDN’T BUILD A SPECIAL PLATFORM FOR ONE CAR.

PORCHE DOESN’T USE AIR COOLED ENGINES ANY MORE WHY SHOULD VW?

Q: how to change a battery in a 1999 volkswagen new beetle?
do u have to reprogram the car if u change the battery in a 1999 volkswagen new beetle

A: The dealer said they did on my brother’s 2004 beetle.
I am not sure I believe that, since that would be a ridiculous design flaw in my opinion.
But Autozone sells an adapter you plug into the ODB II (on board diagnostic) socket on the VW, and a cigarette lighter on any other car, to hold the information, while battery is changed.
I believe is it only diagnostic codes that would be lost, and you don’t care about them anyway.
But I don’t know for sure.
The radio is more of a concern to me, if it has theft protection.

Q: I am hearing rumors that the New Volkswagen Beetle is being discontinued?
Is that true?

A: It will be yes, but is being replaced by a newer model.

Q: How to change a headlight in a new Volkswagen Beetle?

A: i own a repair shop, and all you need is the bulb part of it,it just turns out from the back of it,and put the new one in it,be care full and don’t touch the actual bulb part of it,your not supposed to touch them with your fingers hold it with a cloth rag or something but the old one just pulls out and the new on goes right in,and that’s all there is to it,,good luck,i hope this help,s.

Q: I am wanting a new volkswagen beetle convertible. Are they safe…and are they a good thing to have???
I am wanting a new volkswagen beetle convertible. Are they safe…and are they a good thing to have??? I need a bug owners reviews and advice. Any bug owners online???

A: Here are three links about the car (2007 and 2008 models):

http://www.automobilemag.com/reviews/convertibles/0301_vw_new_beetle/
http://autos.yahoo.com/volkswagen_new_beetle_convertible/

http://www.newcars.org/cars/volkswagen/2007-new-beetle-triple-white-pzev.asp#

It appears to be a solid car.

Q: Has anyone ever owned a volkswagen new beetle?
I just want any reviews, the year of the car will be 1998-2002 probably used obviously. What are major problems with it, and anything else someone buying this car should know. Is it a good first car?

A: The only real problem my brother has had with his is that tall people in the back seat don’t have enough head room to the side, if you hit bumps while turning.
Otherwise it has been fine.
A little tight to work on, and the battery is hard to change.

Q: What size gas tank is in new volkswagen beetle?

A: the gas tank holds 14.5 gal (55.0 L). Here’s a link with all the specs.

Q: does anyone know how to replace a coolant system for a 2004 Volkswagen New Beetle?
Please provide a how-to and what you think it would cost to fix it on your own. Dealer told me it would be over $800 to fix, and I think that is pretty insane. I’m looking to see if I can get it done on my own.
If anyone has done this, or knows how to, can you please share?

A: Need more details; what parts are you talking abt? Radiator? Water pump? Hoses? Expansion tank?
Best thing to do if you are going to do it yourself is get a good Repair Manual .
Then you have to factor in tools too. Do you have a good set? Is the work going to involve crawling under the car?
It may seem that the dealer is high but in the end ‘peace of mind’ , convenience, and the dealer guarantee on parts and labor is a winner to me.
We have tried other shops . But for us, experience has shown that the dealer is best.
Dont wait too long though; if the car is overheating while you still drive it, it could cost you $1000’s if you damage the engine.

Q: Does anyone have Beetle art on their new volkswagen beetle?
and if you do where did you get it done …. and have ya got any pics lol

A: How about something magnetic to stick on your VW? MidAmerica Motorworks has the following advertised on their website …

“Create a touch of classic VW nostalgia on your car. Our 15-piece Groovy Magnetic Symbols Kit includes 5 different colors of circles, peace signs & flowers, made of a flexible magnetic material and silkscreened color for durability. These magnets have been road tested at speeds up to 100 miles per hour! Not harmful to your car’s delicate finish.”

Q: Which color of the Volkswagen New Beetle should I get?
I’ve been doing extra hours at work, and have saved about 2,000 dollars so far. Mainly, I’m kind of struck between black, silver, and green. Please tell me which color you think is better and why? Or any other color.

A: We have red, but I would choose white. Because you never see the white beetles, all the other colours are a bit cliche, especially red! I’d choose white its classy!

Q: Is it hard to finance a used Toyota Celica?
I really want to get one. My Ford Explorer is going to die out soon, and my step dad said that Celicas’ are pretty good cars, but most places probably wont finance them. Is it really that hard to finance a used Celica?

A: Financed cars is more expensive to insurance cause it requires full coverage. You can compare how much you would pay for full coverage of this car using this tool – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: How much import duty I have to pay if I want to Import a used Toyota Celica 1991 to India?
I want to import a Toyota Celica 1991 model to India.
How much total import duty I have to pay to do so?
I bought the car for AUD 1500.
Can someone please tell me the total approximate cost for the import of the car

A: take the wheels off and you should not pay any dutie, write that down into the bill of lading, your declaration is coming under automotive spare part, but check with india customs, first,.and dont tell them how much you payed for real ,only declare the minimal amount ,ie 500,au

Q: what’s the cheapest i can get a used toyota celica?
i’m looking for a toyota celica that is below $10,000 but is in good condition and is a manual…does anybody no how much a newer one would be, like a 2002 and up.

A: i live in california and i see lots of 2002 up celicas selling for way less than
10K
try craigslist.org

Q: What car cost more to buy USED a Toyota Celica Or Scion Tc?
What car cost more a Toyota Celica Or Scion Tc.
I am looking for a car and i was wondering which would cost more?
If the Celica was a 2006 and the scion Tc is a 2007. (AND BUYING THE CARS USED!)
Since they are both considered a sports car because they are a coupe how much do you think for a new driver would that cost?
If this helps i live in modesto california!
thanks!

A: well first off, check and see what the ACTUAL year of the celica is. i have a 2004 and they stopped making them in 05. so no way its an 06. the celica will be cheaper depending if its the gt (1zzge) or the gts (2zzge). the gt will be cheapest. the gts is a better deal than the tC. the tC’s have great transmissions. ive owned a celica and test drove several tC’s and i would say a celica gts is the far best deal. the celica gt and scion tC are about equal, so it just depends on which body you like. also, insurance is going to be the same on both. the celicas have better resale value too.

Q: I am planning to buy used toyota celica, is it true that tax and insurance would be high for that model?
Can anyone please give me an idea how much the cost particularly tax and insurance will be for this type of car and comparison with some other models. I am considering honda civic as my next coice.

A: insurance depends on a number of important factors: type of insurance req’d, type of vehicle, value of vehicle, age of driver, location of where car will be (city verses small town), number of named drivers, and amount of deductable. Suggest you get on web and find an insurance site that quotes premiums.

Q: what is the difference between a USED 2002 toyota celica and a USED 2002 toyota celica Gt?
pls give me all the information you kno. how much each cost, if one is faster then the other, anythinnngggggg ppleaseeee :/

A: the GT is faster and more expensive to insure but it looks cooler and is totally pimped out. The base celica is cool sporty and economical. 2 doors in a sports car means louzy interior space and no back seat worth talking about. You are taking a big risk buying a used sports car since they are usually abused by their owners. Make sure the prior owner was over 50 years old to insure you minimize this risk.

Q: Whats an easy way to find a used toyota celica (any year)?
got any good sites or other ways?
other than ksl.com

A: google

Q: WHAT ARE SOME GOOD FREE ONLINE PLACES TO PLACE MY AD FOR USED 1992 TOYOTA CELICA IN GREAT CONDITION?
I cant seem to sell this thing wat are some sites to post ads at on?

A: Craigslist.org in your home town (or nearest big city) is the best to post a free classified ad. Check it out – it’s easy to use and anonymous, just make sure to remove or blur your plates if you put up pics of your car.

Q: whats an easy way to find a used toyota celica (any year)?
got any good sites or other ways?
other than ksl.com

A: Craigslist.org
Just type in the make and model that you want and it will bring up a whole big list for ya..

Q: how can i find a used Toyota celica in my area form a privet person(not dealer!) besides the internet!? ideas?

A: y not the internet? the internet is the best way to find stuff. the paper would be the next best thing but internet is better. autotrader is a magazine for dealers to advertise the cars they have for sale. try ebay, craigslist, postaroo.com, cars.com

good luck

Q: just recently bought a used 2004 toyota celica, i found some transmission problems 2 weeks later and i want.?
just recently bought a used 2004 toyota celica, i found some transmission problems 2 weeks later and i want.
to return it back to the dealer. Its been about 3 weeks now and i still have temporary tags. Can they do something to my credit or mess me up in any way? Do i have to give them money if i return it back to them, another thing is, they let me drive off without insurance so i dont have it on the car and they cant get tags under my name. Dont they have to take the car back now since they cant finance me without insurance

A: Well first of all your STUPID for driving with out insurance .. do you realize how irresponsible that is .. if you got into an accident and hurt some one or worse someone was killed you would never drive again probably do jail time and have to pay for it for the rest of your life ….
now about your question .. take it back and tell them to fix it .. depending on what state your in their are laws to protect people like you ..and the dealer should at least fix it because I’m sure he won’t want you to complain to anyone because what he did was against the law too ..
Owning and driving a car is not a right it’s a privilege and if you can’t afford or get insurance then go out and get a transit pass.. cause it could be me you crash into .. and then I will not be as nice ….

Q: Is getting a used Toyota celica with 160000 miles for $3700 a good deal?
I have a 2005 one and I want to get one for my son he’s 17 and I’m sick of him racking up my miles on mine xD and I was basically wondering how long they would last on average cuz I don’t want to get it and have it die soon
so is 160000 miles alot for a celica or not really cuz I have been looking at alot of them and they all seem to have high miles and 160000 seems to be on the lower end
It’s a 2000 btw

A: Nope.

Q: what kind of transmission fluid is used for 2001 toyota celica?

A: Manual or automatic? The manual is GL5 75-90 gear oil. The automatic uses Toyota T-IV ATF. As far as I know, there is no equivalent fluid, so you may need to go to the dealer for that. Or call a parts store and ask them. They may have come out with an equivalent by now, but DON’T put Dexron in there…it doesn’t work correctly and can damage things.
Hope this helps. God Bless!

Q: How much would insurance be on a red 2001 Toyota Celica?
http://autos.yahoo.com/used-cars/toyota-celica-cars135552689;_ylt=AkwAdUBozMXShhqd.AL.Qh34XY54;_ylv=3?sortcol=price&sortdir=up&location=Boiling%20Springs,%20NC%2028017&listingtype=used&model=celica&make=toyota&distance=50
heres the link to the specific car and also i am a 16 year old male living in NC and my parents have state farm (if that helps)

A: Perhaps your parent’s State Farm agent MIGHT know. Have you considered asking them?

Q: Where can I find a toyota celica headlight assy?
I bought my ‘02 Toyota Celica GT used in 2004. Almost immediately after I drove it off the lot, the drivers side headlight dropped. It had been glued back on!! I dealt with this eyesore for over 2 years. Then I was in an accident. The truck shattered the bad headlight. His insurance company paid to fix my car. Finally, two normal headlights!! But the bodyshop that fixed my car, must have cracked the seal on the other headlight. Or perhaps the accident cracked the seal, but they didn’t catch it. I noticed the moisture in my passenger side headlight assy, and called the body shop. They told me it was probably there before the accident, i just never noticed it. EXCUSE ME?! I looked at my uneven headlights every time i got in and out of my car, I know there was no moisture. But long story short, I couldn’t find a drivers side headlight assy for the two years I looked, any chance I’ll find a passenger side assy used?? They are not cheap straight from Toyota! THANKS!

A: Moisture inside of the newer “composite” style headlamps is not unusual… most manufacturers usually advise to turn on the lamps for a few moments and the moisture will dissipate… These lamps are “vented” and can collect moisture from the atmosphere… Unfotunately, over a period of time the lamp becomes dirty or “dull” inside and therefore will look terrible alongside of the new one that your body shop installed and there is no practical way to clean the inside…
For a new lamp there are probably “aftermarket” units available, ie: not made by Toyota but from another source. Check with any good body shop and they can check for you. Odds of finding a good used lamp for this model are pretty slim

Looking for a new subaru wrx? Try the automotive resource Import-Heaven.net

Q: do you think i am better off buying a new subaru wrx sti?
Or should i buy a 2005 model that hasnt been driven much. Or would it be worth me paying more for the new one?

A: Depends on if you want the one that has a warranty on it or if you don’t care both are awesome cars and Subaru has a really good reputation for being a dependable all around car

Q: need help with customizing my new Subaru wrx?
I just got my license and my father gave me his 02′ wrx which is blue. I love the cars power, but i dont think it is appealing at all especially its headlights. Im going to buy a cold air intake and chip, but in the terms of exterior and interior what should i do (ex; navigation, leather seats, interior color change) i want to buy new headlights and front and rear spoiler also. If you have any good suggestions it would help and if you can leave links to the sites to buy the parts…thanks.

A: a very good forum to check is nasioc.com. It’s the North American Subaru Impreza Owners Club. Some the best info can be found there.

as for performance, as the guy before me said, an intake is not the best first mod, since the air has to get through the stock intercooler/piping/turbo first.

i’d suggest springing for a turboback exhaust, as this is easy to do, should make a decent power improvement for the money, and is one of the easiest ways to customise the appearance/performance with one product.

Perrin and Cobb both make good parts for Subaru, as do Whiteline.

You said you wanted new lights. Run a search for WRX JDM lights. They’re a direct swap, and look much better.

As for interior color swap, thats gonna be a bit difficult. It requires removing every peice of the interior, including things like qauges/switches, which have some pretty complicated wiring.

I would suggest you not bother with that unless you have some good help. Nav systems are easy, esp if you just want a portable to pop on the dash. Check out Best Buy, or your local car audio shop, they’ll be able to give you good info.

Leather seats are available in some upmarket Subies, such as the Legacy. Check on some forums, or your local dealer, to see whether they are a direct bolt-in replacement.

For body mods, there are two ways to go. One is the stock look, which involves keeping stock parts, but modding them subtly. (also common is swapping things like lights/bumpers for JDM or UKDM versions). Or you can go for the all-out racer look, and strap a bodykit on. Chargespeed and Do-Luck both make good products, my sister has a combination of them on her car.

On tip for bodykits, buy urethane. As the WRX is AWD, you will be tempted to offroad it a bit, or at least drive it in winter, and fibreglass kits will get destroyed doing that. Urethane is flexible, and will last longer, and look better longer.

Good luck, and feel free to message me with any questions

Q: What do you think about the new Subaru Wrx 2008???
Should i get the Subaru Wrx 2007 be4 the hideous 08 wrx comes in?

A: I like the Bugeye 02, cause that is what I had. I hate the silly form over functio hood scoop of the late versions (05-07). I think the new 08 looks more refined. Heck, the door windows are now framed. At least they will not rattle when shut. Plus, the 08 is supposed to be lighter. I would go with the 08 or find a nice 02. Either way…go with what YOU like.

Q: will the new subaru wrx 2008 come in any different trims? sti transmission?
was thing about buying the new hatch. comes in manual or auto. but with auto you cant buy the NAV. WHats the deal?

Also the new STI, still only going to come in manual?

A: I have an 08 WRX manual with Sat Nav. I understand they will release a sedan mid next year.

I was hesitant buying the hatch but I soooo wanted another Rex after going without for a few years. Anyway – now I love it. It’s a superb car – faster, more comfortable, better on rough corners and quieter (road noise wise) than either my bug-eye or my 03. Turbo lag is almost non-existent and torque is amazing.

I understand the Sti will only be in manual here in Australia. Don’t know about elsewhere but can’t imagine an auto Sti anyway. That’s sort of like showering in a raincoat!

Q: What are the new Subaru Wrx’s going to look like?
I read the motor trend article that showed (in all its horror) the new body styling of the Subaru Impreza’s, and i instantly thought to myself “Well this is the death of the WRX Sti being the coolest awd sports car of rally heritage” i got to thinking about how the Mitsubishi Lancers are one body style, but the same car as a Lancer Evo is nearly a completely different car. So perhaps the new Wrx Sti is NOT going to look like that terrible impreza they showed, that looks like some cross between a hyundia and a kia and whatever else crappy blend-into-the-crowd cars along those lines?

Because hatchbacks are not cool. The dodge magnum is a station wagon, so it has an exception. If they expect to put the Sti badge on some blobular ford-focus looking thing, then i’ll just set my sights for good on an ‘04-era Sti.

A: The WRX STI is already out in the USA and is only available as a hatchback.

I agree and think the ‘04 era is more appealing.
Unfortunately, I hate the Magnum and am glad Dodge is discontinuing them after 2008.

This is what the new STI looks like:

Q: Where can I buy a New 2004 Subaru WRX STi in Houston Texas?
Would Ebay be reliable? I have spent a week searching everywhere and still cannot find anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A: You can’t buy a NEW 2004 STi anywhere, they’re all 4.5 years old at this point.

I don’t recommend eBay. I’ve got friends who have bought cars off eBay and have never found that the seller discloses everything about the car beforehand.

Look on sites like craigslist.org and Autotrader that will simply allow you to find the car but make no financial commitment to purchasing it.

Q: New subaru 2.5 wrx refinement – better than the old one?
Hi – considering purchasing a new Subaru wrx 2.5, I used to have the old model and although it was great fun with terrific handling and power I do longish motorway runs about once a month ( 1000 miles round trip) and the old 2.0 scooby was unbearable on those trips, noisy and unrefined, so much so I got rid of it in the end for a more refined car but much less fun. Have put up a photo of my old scooby on car blog at http://www.cars-stuff.co.uk/new-subaru-25-wrx-2007-version-how-good-is-it/
Any answers from new subaru owners about new cars refinement?

A: Compared to my 2.0 liter wrx, my friends new 2.5 liter wrx is noticably more refined. The newer wrx’s have more sound/vibration insulation and seem to ride smoother. The 2.5 in the new wrx’s can actually pass traffic in 5th gear now due to the low end torque. Despite its improvements, the wrx is still a bit rough around the edges (the way it was meant to be) and is probably not the best choice for a 1000 mile trip every month. Look into the legacy gt it is fast and way more refined than a wrx could ever be.

Q: who else loves the new subaru wrx sti?
i love this new sti. it brought me back into subaru after the 02-03 impreza. most people say it is ugly, but it is a great car to have.

A: The people who have them seem to like them. They are a better car all around. Check out http://www.iwsti.com/forums/gr-members-journals/ for some good info and pictures of the new model.

Q: WHat Should I Do to My new 2002 subaru wrx?
I just got my first car and its an automatic subaru wrx 2002 and im wondering what i should do to it aftermarket its silver and stalk

A: Great car.
Exhaust, get the most from that engine.
Dont chip it, chipping is overrated and can totally stuff it up.
Lightweight it, remove all unnessicary weight.
Increase the turbo boost.
Increase the engine cooling, and tweek the timing and other engine stuff
Make the transmission faster, lighter flywheel, driveshaft, etc.
Tyres are a good thing too, get yourself a great set.
And finally
AN AWESOME STEREO!!!!

Q: What is the max. speed & 0 – 60 time of the new Subaru Impreza WRX sti?
http://www.automobilesreview.com/uploads/2008/07/subaru-impreza-wrx-sti-rb320-794785.jpg I don’t intend to drive at high speeds in this car but it’s good to know that I have something more valuable under the hood.
Should I buy this, or a Mitsubishi Evo X?

A: Have you driven them both yet? If not, when you test drive the impreza listen for the creaks groans and rattles from the dash, especially if its a cold morning.

Honestly, they’re awful. I’ve been a Subaru man for the last 11 years and my current one will be my last.

Unless you really dont like the drive in the Mitsu I dont think you’ll buy the Impreza when you have driven them both.

0-60 is sub 5 seconds in both cars, but that doesnt make either car worth buying unless you are only intending to use them on a track.

Drive, build quality and looks go to the Mitsubishi in my book!

Good luck with your new car when you get it!

Q: classic WRX STi Vs. New Subaru Wrx Sti?
I have seen printed around many times about subaru wrx stis having much quicker 0-60mph times before 2000 than the ones after this year. why is this??

A: Stock they were about the same. They had less power but were lighter and only 5 speeds to that helps with acceleration. P properly modified GC WRX can be a much better track car than the newer ones.

Q: What type of model should I get for a new 2009 Subaru Impreza WRX?
Should I get the hatchback 5-door model or the 4-door sedan?

A: either or, great car either way. its your opinion that counts not ours.

Q: Will the price of the new 2008 subaru wrx sti go down next year this time?

A: from my knowledge, subaru isn’t making a 2008 sti model. just the wrx tr from what I know.

Q: New mitsubishi lancer evo or new subaru impreza wrx sti? Which should I buy?
any other cars with similar price and equal or better performance?

A: If you mean the Evo X, then wait and get that. But if you mean the IX, get the Sti.

Q: severe problems with new subaru wrx sl 20 l t?
gearbox rebuilt 840 miles new clutch slave cylinder new front discs uk main dealer car not grey import anyone else suffered ignorant aftersales most unsual in brand new car call jon 01952 881135 e mail jon.dequincy>btinternet.com if you can help

A: gearbox and clutch seem to be weak links on subaru,i had always thought aftersales service was supposed to be good as you see them so often

Looking for a new mitsubishi eclipse? Try the automotive resource Import-Heaven.net

Q: Do you think the new Mitsubishi Eclipse is a girls car?
I’m looking at getting a new car and I’ve pretty much fallen in love with the new Eclipses. They’re fast, I like the way they sit, and I want it in black. Just wondering what the general consensus is if you think they’re a chick car. I know certain colors definitely would place it in this catagory, but what if I get it in black?

I drive a Cougar right now, which I do honestly love, but I get the chick comment all the time.

A: I vote girly. Guys should drive something with muscle, like a mustang or charger.

I know Eclipses can be fast, but they defiantly are not a “tough” car.

If you have to ask if it is a chick car or not, I think you answered your own question.

Q: What do you think about the new 07 mitsubishi eclipse?
I’ve been thinking about getting that car for weeks and never heard anything negative about it! Just wanted to know if anyone knows any common problem with the new eclipse.
you can check it out here :

http://www.mitsubishicars.com

A: test drove one and the back window is really small and u cant see anything through it…its hard for high way driving or anyother kind of driving, plus i dont like the bucket seats, i know its sports car but its way to lower, plus if arent getting gt/v6 its not worth money…happens to be very slow, but i love the design, the concept would had been more better but, they did alright…but id stick with my 01 mitsubishi eclipse gt

Q: Is the new Mitsubishi Eclipse kind of a girly car for a guy to buy?
I just bought one I am curious of peoples opinions?

A: nah i think its a gender friendly car

i personally like the older models 96-98

but i dont know why all girls want the new ones and they never wanted the older ones

im reversed lol

Q: If i put 10,000 down on a new mitsubishi eclipse, will the dealership care if i work for minimum wage?

A: Dealership could care less, it is the finance company you have to impress. As long as you can show that you monthly bills will not exceed your income by a certain percent, they will do the loan based on your credit too.

Q: where and how much can i get a new transmission for my 2002 mitsubishi eclipse?
where can i get a new transmission for my 2002 Mitsubishi eclipse 3.0 L v6 and it is automatic tiptronic and how long u think my car will last right now i have 84,700 miles and i always maintain my oil changes.

A: You can get a rebuilt transmission installed at a transmission shop. National chains include AAMCO and Cottman Transmission Centers. You can look for a used transmission at a junkyard/auto salvage yard. I can’t determine how long your car will last – you need to change not only the oil, but all the fluids (including the transmission fluid), filters, spark plugs, belts, and hoses regularly. My mother had a 2000 Galant (since given to a relative) that now has over 136,000 miles (maintained by me). In my opinion, it is one of the easiest cars to maintain.

Q: what are the minor differences between the new (2006 or newer) mitsubishi eclipse gs and gt models?
I was going to purchase a used vehicle and liked the new eclipse models. I know the difference in horsepower and engine size. I was leaning on a GS model because i wanted a vehicle with better gas milage than a 6 cylinder model. I have questions such as : can you put a spoiler on a GS model and does it have cruise control. What types of options does the gs model leave out? I wish they would make a fully loaded version with a 4 cylinder but thats unreallistic.

A: Aside from the obvious engine sizes, HP etc, there are some other differences. Here is what the GS lacks that the GT has:
foglights, 7 spoke rims, stainless steel exhaust tip, sunroof, traction control, outside temp gauge & compass, these are all I can think of, cosmetically they look a like unless you know what to look for. The GS does have cruise control and there are different packages, sun & sound for example that feature the sunroof & premium stereo ( that comes standard on both spyder’s). The body is identical so any kind of spoilers, bodykits etc will work on either the GS or GT models.
I have a GT spyder but have driven the GS as well and it is still very fast and torquey. Good luck with your purchase..

Q: What’s the average cost for a new 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse?
I want one exactly like this:

http://www.cardata.com/spoilers/images/DAR_Spoilers/fg-136_2008_Mitsubishi_Eclipse.jpg

A: Here are over 1000, 2009 Mitsubishi Eclipse’s It shows average price on bottom $19,908

http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/searchresults.jsp?lastStartYear=1981&num_records=25&search_lang=en&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&search_type=both&distance=0&address=90210&marketZipError=false&style_flag=1&make=MIT&model=ECLIP&make2=&start_year=2009&end_year=2009&min_price=&max_price=&seller_type=b&transmission=&engine=&drive=&doors=&fuel=&max_mileage=&color=&keywordsrep=&keywordsfyc=&keywords_display=&sort_type=priceDESC&body_code=0&certified=&advanced=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&showZipError=y&default_sort=priceDESC&awsp=false&systime=&rdm=1261419433835

Q: I need a new front end for my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS?
My front end bumber has almost been literally ripped off by various parking curbs.. I drive a 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse GS, and I need a new bumber with flood light hubs.. How much would that cost and where is the cheapest place where I can find a new standard front end ? Is it possible for whoever to mail a new bumber to me in florida?

A: Not sure on the prices for it but you should be able to find a cheap, used one that can be shipping to you using a site called U Need A Part, http://www.uneedapart.com. They will send your request to hundreds of salvage yards across the country who in turn will respond back with prices. Worked great when I needed parts for my Jetta =) Hope this helps you out!

Q: wat do you think about the new mitsubishi Eclipse?

A: hrms… i think the car is ugly as hell… it looks like a 2nd generation mixed with a 3rd generation… its a mutt… if you look and compare it… it has a similar front end and rear end to the second generations and the middle of the car resembles the third generation… i dont care much for the interior either… i think it looks too plain… the mivec motor is a plus though… mitsubishi screwed up when they got rid of the gs-t and gsx’s… but it would make sense since the evolutions are in the US now… but not everybody has 40g’s to spend on a car… a new mitsubishi evolution IX MR is roughly $42,000 after tax and title… plus the weight of these beefy cars makes them slow… even though they have some power… if you guys plan on buying one… just wait and see if they release the Ralliart Version… i doubt it… but it would be nice… look it up… it looks a LOT nicer… even though it is only a concept

Q: Where to buy replacement engine for 1995 Mitsubishi Eclipse GST? New or used turbo or non!?
My engine is blown and I don’t know where to look for a new one other than at a junk yard… What all engines can fit in my car?

A: theres a brand new dance thats sweepin the nation bout a mini chicken sandwich thats a taste sensation, mini buffalo ranch chicken sandwiiiichchhhhhh miniiiiiii bufffallo raaaaanch miniii bufffallo raaaanch chicken sandwich

Q: which is better a dodge charger or a ford mustang or the new Mitsubishi eclipse.?

A: Dodge=apples
Ford=oranges
Mitsu=grapes
I personally like apples.

Q: I heard that the new Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder has a very similer ride like a Mercedes SLK. Is this true?

A: whoever came up with that idea is totally delusional. lol

Q: How can i get a new key for my 1990 mitsubishi eclipse?
I have lost my keys a while ago and have been using a screw driver to start it up. How would I go about getting a new key for my car?

A: Take your registration and proof of ownership to a local dealership and they should be able to cut a new key for you.

Q: When is the new 2008 mitsubishi eclipse gonna be out?Is it gonna look diffrent then the ‘07 model?

A: No idea.

Q: Can my 1996 mitsubishi eclipse make it to New York from Florida.?
I have a 1996 mitsubishi eclipse with 115,000 miles on it. It runs pretty good and I was planning on going to N.Y with it but a lot of people tell me it will ruin my car if I take it there. Also if it can make it is there any things I should do to the car before going on the trip???

A: yes there is a couple things that you should do before taken a trip that far and that long and that’s a Lot of miles on a car but there isn’t any real reason it shouldn’t make it with no problem all you have to do is change the spark plugs and sparkplug wires with some good one that will last under heat and change the oil and filter and air filter and check the air pressure in all 4 tires and make shure you have a jack and a spare and that the radiator is cleaned out and has clean antifreeze in it and install anew thermostat if needed and is advised to if it hasn’t been changed in a very long time and make sure the breaks are working good and hasn’t gote any wourped spots and uneven areas on the rotors and that the break pads and shoes have enough pad and shoe left for a trip like that and you can put some fuel cleaner inthe gas tank too so that it will clkean the injectors while you are driveing down the road so good luck and drive safe and becareful and remember this ok always watch out for the other guy cause you never know what the other driver is thinking ok see yaaaaaaaaaa….

Looking for a new porsche 911? Try the automotive resource Import-Heaven.net

Q: Which is better, the new Porsche 911 Turbo, the new GT3, or upcoming 2008 GT2?
I just saw the spy shots of the 2008 GT2 on Car and Driver. It says that the GT2 will be lighter and more powerful than the current Turbo. The current turbo can already go 0-60 in ~3.4 sec. Can the GT2 really beat that. Also, based on the specs, the GT2 is the fastest, then 911 Turbo, and finally the GT3; why is it then that Porsche chooses to name these models the way they do? Why is it that the “GT2’s” get to be the fastest out of these three models? The 2 in GT2 makes it sound like a second place car. Finally, if the upcoming GT2 is faster than the Turbo, wouldn’t the Carrerra GT owners be mad, since they paid for a slower and more expensive car than any of the three models mentioned above? What’s going on with Porsche now? The new 911 look just came out and there’s already spyshots of a new 2009 911 look?!?

A: the GT2 is the true true supercar of the 911 line. I would not be surprised if the GT2 ends up just as fast as the carrera GT. The turbo may accelerate to 60 as fast as or faster than the GT2, but the GT2 will be a much faster car (its lighter, and the turbo has AWD, giving it an advantage). the new GT2 will pretty much romp on all of the other cars in and above its price range (all of the lamborghinis, all current production ferraris, etc etc).

the turbo and GT3 cost about the same, but have a different purpose. the GT3 is the track oriented, naturally aspirated car. The turbo is the heavier, AWD, turbocharged 911, designed more of as a street car (but still WICKEDLY fast and capable on the track). the GT3 has more performance per horsepower, but the turbo has more HP. theyre about the same speed (maybe not in a straight line, but on a track, where they were designed for).

GT2 is the name of a class at lemans. It was named like that during the 993 model range (2 gens ago), but it was the top of the line, so they kept that name.

the GT3 got the name for being after the GT2 (in speed). awkwardly, the GT3 RSR races in the GT2 class of lemans now.

the carrera GT is significantly faster than the turbo and GT3. They wont be mad anyways. its an older car, and was built as a super high end supercar, not as a 911 competitor.

and those spyshots are from autobild. theyre just worthless photoshops. autobild is filled with them. such a terrible magazine.

and the new 911 came out in 05 actually… its been around several years now.

hope i answered all the questions you had. If you have more, just keep asking and ill be happy to answer.

Q: How much would a brand new Porsche 911 turbo carrera coat?

A: In the U.S. the starting price for a 2010 911 Turbo coupe is $135,500 (http://www.porsche.com ). A cabriolet will set you back at least $146,800. Keep in mind that few cars actually come over in base form. Any 2010 coupe you buy will likely be listed closer to $140,000, and any cabriolet close to $150,000.

If money is no object, the 2011 Turbo S coupe starts at $160,700, and the Turbo S cabriolet at $172,100. These Porsches come standard with the lightning fast seven-speed PDK transmission, and just about every other option Porsche has.

Road and Track says the Turbo S coupe is just as fast, 0 to 60 mph, as a $1.5M Bugatti Veyron – 2.6 seconds (http://www.roadandtrack.com/tests/car/2011-porsche-911-turbo-s-to-the-power-of-12 ). Motor Trend, however (October 2010), measured it at 2.7 seconds, making it only the second fastest car they have ever tested – after the Veyron.

Porsche says it takes 3.1 seconds for the Turbo S to get to 60 mph. Porsche is known for under-promising and then over-delivering.

There are still some 2009 and 2010 new cars on lots around the country. It’s well worth your traveling to purchase one of these at lower prices.

Q: How fast can new porsche 911 turbo do the 1/4 mile?
this is very helpful. my friend thinks he can beat me while im in my chevelle with a 502 big block
this is very helpful. my friend thinks he can beat me while im in my chevelle with a 502 big block
a 502 has more than 375hp
the top speed does not always matter on the 1/4 mile

A: I checked out conceptcarz.com.I have only found the 0-60mph time and the top speed. The 0-60 time is 3.7seconds and the top speed is 193mph

Q: how loud are the new Porsche 911’s compared to..?
how loud are the NEWER Porsche 911’s compared to the 3.2 carrera (1984-89) series?

Aren’t the newer 911’s MUCH quieter? The 3.2L ones are LOUD!

Please give any feedback, will 5 star. Thanks!!

A: Well, Define newer… I have a 1996 993 twin turbo and it is probably as loud if not louder. The main reason cars are getting quieter is due to emissions equipment, the intake silencing technology etc. So to answer your question… Yes, The newer 911 cars are much quieter. there are stamped casting “expansion chambers” in the exhausts and much more efficient catalyst. Also the introduction of water cooling the 911’s circa 1999 eliminates almost completely all of the cool sounding fans and such that the 911 was so famous for. My 993tt is loud even when you turn the ignition off… the fans stay running for a long while due to oil and exchangers cooling from the nearly 2000 degrees that the turbochargers produce. I could go on and on. 1970’s and 80’s cars… Louder in STOCK form than a 993, 996, or 997 in STOCK form due to the lack of catalyst tech and muffler size… Yet if you Straight pipe a 997 GT3 RS… We might have to get out the decibel meter as this could be a contest. Interior noise regardless of exterior noise will always be less in a newer 911 due to the quality and advancement in the insulation of the cars nowadays. So if that was the answer that you were looking for then… Once again YES the newer ones are quieter all around. Thanks, Chris Armstrong

Q: how much would a new porsche 911 turbo and nissan gtr engine cost?
want to upgrade my merc race it against lambos
anyway dont know how much it would cost
does anyone know

please help

A: “Merc” as in Mercury? Mercedes? Regardless, new Porsche Turbo engines seem to be in very short supply, based on an online search. I did find the following prices for gently used ones:

996 (3.6 litre, normally aspirated) – $7,000 to 10,000
996 (3.6 litre) turbo – $25,000
997 (not clear if 3.6 litre engine or latest 3.8 litre 997 engine) – $5,000 to 8,000

The 996 and the original 997 turbo engines were based on the GT1 engine, and have been called “the strongest engines ever put in the 911.” The latest (some call it 997.5) turbo engine is entirely new (although Porsche has been using a normally aspirated version for several years). The tried and true 3.6 litre engine (in normally aspirated form) predictably seems to be selling for more than the more recent 3.8.

I’m pretty sure you can buy a gently used GTR engine for less than the $25,000 quoted for the Porsche turbo engine. I found an entire used GTR for the $69,000 figure.

Q: what would you do for a brand new porsche 911 GT carrera?
i wanna know?

A: There is a Carrera GT, but not a brand new one since production on that ended a few years ago (and it’s not a 911).

There are GT model Carreras (GT2, GT3, GT3 Cup, GT3RS, and GT3RSR), but none are badged as 911.

So, for a brand new Porsche 911 GT Carrera? My first instinct is “absolutely nothing,” but on second thought I suppose I’d at least spend a few seconds to answer a question on here just to see what you might actually mean!

Q: How much money do you have to make in order to afford a new Porsche 911 Carrera?
a new 911 cost around 85k, now my career aim is PharmD. (Doctor of Pharmacy) I would graduate with this degree when i turn 24, my starting annual salary is about as same as the car. Should I pursue a degree in medicine which put 8 MORE years of study but the salary would triple to 250k/yr, or just stick to my current career? I am 18 right now btw.
I also want to start a family duh! Porsche is my choice of car becayse it seems like a luxurious and a sports car combined so it would suits for the whole family and myself

what would your suggestion be?

A: I would say that a Carrera is a little ambitious for someone just out of school, probably with student loans and other debts hanging over you. There are lots of other cars that are cheaper but just as sporty and just as luxurious. Besides, the Carerra that is now $85K will be $100K by the time you graduate.

And you know a Carrera is not a family car, right? It has a back seat that is only suitable for very small midgets and kids under the age of three with very short legs.

Q: Do you like the brand new 2009 Porsche 911’s?
I would love to get this car.

A: Man it is a Porsche, it is a classic, it is beautiful, it is one of my favorite cars. Only a wee bit expensive, just a little.

But Yes I love that car….

Q: Pre-driven Porsche 911 2005 year or new Porsche Cayman S?

A: Why does everyone keep calling ‘used cars’ pre-owned or pre-driven. It’s a USED CAR, why does every dealer insist on sugar coating it??? It’s a used car.

And as for your question, it’s like comparing apples and oranges.

Q: Hi, i have a 1969 porsche 911 with updated body and in need of a new engine, wondering if i am able to put in?
a newer model 911 engine in, not talking any water cooled engines, just basically any later 911 engine from 1970 onwards till the they stopped with the air cooled, also what will be involved ie. also having to replace transmission and so on and also if anyone knows any places where you could possibly buy the engine from

A: There is one thing i am aware of with porches, being that, almost all of them are built in a manor, that required the motor to be pulled to replace the clutch. While doing this, they made the engine very easy to remove, so make sure you shop around when paying for labor to remove and replace the engine, as some people may charge a standard rate for an engine replacement when in fact it takes only a few hours to do.

An alternative to replacing the engine is to rebuild it, which given the age and rarity of the car, may be easier to do than attempting to find a new motor for it. You may not be able to find one at all.

Q: How much milage would you suggest to wear in new rear tires on a 1996 Porsche 911 Targa(RWD)?

A: Turn off the traction control and light them up… they will be broken in after ONE GOOD BURN!

Enjoy!

Q: If money wasn’t an issue which one would you rather get? Porsche 911 turbo or GTR?
The new Porsche 911 turbo – 0-60 in 3.2 seconds sports package

Nissan Skyline 0-60 3.5/3.6 3.2 with LC.

Just wondering..

Personally, I’d get the Porsche. Classic look, class, and luxury. Also more importantly more of a drivers car and manual is always a win!

A: Porsche. It takes skill to go fast in the Porsche because its not entirely computer controlled like the GTR. Nissan also had to redo the launch control because it was breaking the transmissions. Its about 1/2 second slower now.

Q: What’s the best color on a newer Porsche 911 coupe?

A: First of all, you must realize that ANY color is available on a brand new Porsche. Send the factory, through your dealership, a chip of what you want, and they’ll match it.

Newer doesn’t necessarily mean brand new, so let’s talk existing and recent Porsche colors. Personally, I like Arctic Silver and Speed Yellow on 911s. The discontinued, but still available, Arena Red is even better. I much prefer Arena Red to Guards Red. My car (picture) is Slate Grey Metallic; I like this on 911s too.

There are a lot of different Porsches; let’s talk other colors on them. A fairly recent Porsche is the Carrera GT (gotta have about $400,000 or more to spend though). GT Silver, GT Silver, GT Silver on this one. The Cayenne looks nice (and smaller) in a dark green I recently saw — essentially “British Racing Green.” I don’t know if it was a standard color, but then, you can always get a new one in the green of your choice.

The boxster can look good in several different colors: Speed Yellow is nice, Arctic Silver too. I’m not much for white cars, but Carrera White isn’t bad on the Boxster. The pretty little Cayman is gorgeous in Speed Yellow. I haven’t seen one yet, but there’s a new Porsche color, Ruby Red (I did see it on a 911.), that I’m imagining would be nice on a Cayman. The Cayman is nice in black too, and I’m not much for black cars.

The brand new Panamera: I’ve only seen it in Nautical Blue so far, with a cream interior. As there are likely no used ones yet to buy, you’ll be ordering new and can choose to paint one Olive Drab if you want.

I guess the bottom line for 911 coupes is: I like Speed Yellow, Arctic Silver, or Arena Red. Oh, and there’s a Basalt (Black) that’s nice too.

Q: Does anyone know where I can buy a yellow 911 turbo Porsche toy like the one in new moon?
I saw the movie with my boyfriend and he said he wants that car, so jokingly I told him I would get him one. I think it would be funny if I got him a toy model of one. So if you can find one for CHEAP please let me know! Thanks

A: try ebay- search yellow 911 and most models range from £10- £25.
Alternatively try a local toy store as the prices are often lower than ebay
The internet fails once again.

Q: How much is a Porsche 911 like the one driven in “New Moon”?
I never liked yellow cars but THAT was nice…

A: A 2010 Porsche 911 Turbo is MSRP
$132,800 – $143,800.

Assuming the one in the movie was 2009, you could probably get it for 10% less or so.

Q: How can I get better reception on my Alpine radio on my Honda Prelude?
Bought a used prelude with a new Alpine stereo. AM station is distorted, paricularly when the rpms increase. FM reception bad in general. Auto antenna.

Is there a way to beef up the reception and clarity?

A: Put a power filter (inductive type) between HU and battery. Get an FM booster. Just be aware a booster will boost everything, this means outside interference.

Possibly have the auto antenna checked for bad connection or replace it.

Q: WHICH USED CAR TO BUY NISSAN 300ZX Or HONDA PRELUDE?
Hey guys,

I was wondering if it was a good idea to buy the NISSAN 300Zx. Although, its production was stopped in 1996, I was kinda inclined towards the looks of the car. I don’t know much about its performance in comparison with the Prelude.
Also, most of the 300ZXs that I found had over 100K miles on them.

Thanks to everyone who left their suggestions.

A: the prelude is a joke next to the ZX. there is no comparison. the prelude is a womans car…the ZX is a road racer and sweet boulevard cruiser. if you find one that has been cared for…as many of them have…100k is no problem

Q: which grade of oil is rite to use in a 1998 honda prelude vitec?
oil to used in honda prelude with vetec engine

A: Honda has been using 5W20 oil for quite some time. This is a semi synthetic blend of oil. You can also use a fully synthetic 5W20 like Mobil 1 for better oil quality and longer lasting performance.

Q: Is Honda Prelude springs are the same as Honda Civic?
Just wondering if the Spring for Prelude and civics are the same.
Because I plan to used my friend honda civic hatchback spring for my prelude?
They don’t have to have the same year to fit right?

A: no

Q: WHICH USED CAR TO BUY, ACURA INTEGRA,HONDA PRELUDE or LEXUS IS SERIES?
Could y’all please post your suggestions, including pros and cons, for each car, and which car would you buy?
I read the consumer report for Lexus IS 300 the other day, and it was rated 4 of 10. Does that mean its not really a very good car compared with the other two?

A: Buy an integra gsr, they are fast, great looking, and last forever (as long as you change the oil and timimg belt)
2nd choice would be a honda prelude 97-01 they are vtec as well and you can run 87 octane in them with no knocking. These also last a long time and are strong runners.

Dont buy a lexus they are nice looking and everything, but they cost alot to buy in the first place and when they do break they are very expensive to fix.

Q: would DC headers that came off a 88 prelude fit my 91 honda civic DX hatchback?
i have a 91 honda civic DX hatchback. i want to know if DC headers that had been used on a 88 honda prelude with a b20a5 motor would fit my car?

A: no,

that prelude is b-series motor,

your civic is d-series.

so no they are NOT interchangeable.

Q: any used honda preludes for sale near south carolina??
i’ve been searching the internet and found a bunch actually but we’re looking for somebody that would be willing to let us make payments with them on it. if you know of any listings where the seller would be willing to please let me know!! thanks!

A: . Private people on the Internet won’t do that. Unless the car is stolen or has flood-damage, whatever.
Any Ford or Chevy car lot would love to get rid of their Hondas.
You got problems with Credit?

Q: Honda Prelude using a lot of Oil?
My 1998 Prelude uses oil. it always has. At first it was just a quart or so in-between oil changes. Now everytime I fill up gas, I have to add a quart. Is there any product that actually works and helps slow oil consumption? I really dont want to do a ring-job at 140K
Thanks
PS I have already switched from 5W30 to 10W30.
Aslo here lately, I have started to smell a little oil odor (like a drip on the exhaust type of thing after oil changes) If it is a leak aswell any sugestions on where to look?
It does have, as always a film of oil or something on the back of my car, so that is why I feel that it is burning oil.
The car’s interior and exterior are in great condition, but at 140K I begin to ponder how much $ I should invest in the car. It has been flawless so far and I have had it since 32K.

A: A quart of oil per fillup is NOT a “slow” consumption.

Plus, if the exhaust is not smoking, you’re losing it from a leak. Just park the car for a couple of days and look underneath to see where it’s coming from. Also, try taking it to the shop. That’s what they’re there for!

Q: WHICH USED CAR to BUY VW PASSAT OR ACURA INTEGRA or HONDA PRELUDE?
Hey y’all
I need some help deciding which car to buy, VW PASSAT OR ACURA INTEGRA.
I really wanted to buy Integra but its hard to find one thats not been raced or in a good condition at a reasonable price.
The same is true with Honda Prelude.
My budget is around $8000.

A: The money you save on buying the Passat will go to your mechanic for all the annoying problems and repairs you will have.

Get a Honda.

ASE Certified Automotive Service Advisor

Q: Which donor cars can I use for 1990 Honda Prelude engine swap ?
I believe the car has a 2.0L fuel injected engine, standard transmission. The car suffered a major oil leak at 75mph. I think the easiest route would be an engine swap from a suitable donor.

A: if you got the skills, you can mount a jet turbine engine.

you should ask what ones will mount up without mods.

Q: what is a good brand of motor oil to use on a honda prelude?
i want to know what oil i can use on my 1995 honda prelude

A: Well you can use any brand on any car ( I recommend royal purple, i use it) but there are different weights that work better in different seasons right now i would use 10w 30, or 5w 30 but i dont use that as much

Q: Can I use silver gas for my 96 honda prelude? or do I have to use premium?
Hey I just got a 96 Honda prelude and I was wondering if you have to only use premium? Someone I know says he uses silver for his 95 prelude but Idk which one to use cause im afraid it will mess up my engine thanks for answering

A: yes you can

Q: where can i find a honda prelude in GA for low price i have looked in alot of car sites for used cars help?

A: you can’t find a prelude, because you don’t want one, you want an acura integra gsr that would kill any prelude for the same price

Q: How long does a Honda Prelude last?
Typically speaking with regular maintenance and check ups along with oil changes how long could a 1993 Honda Prelude last. My get me a used one with 213,000 miles on the body but only 60,000 on the engine. Any info would be nice. thx

A: Yeah it depends on how you take care of the car my brother prelude is still running strong and it has 388,xxx miles on it.

Q: hard to change gears my car is Honda prelude stick shift.?
hi, i have recently changed my clutch, and it did not fix the problem.

what might be the reason? before my Honda prelude 1998 use to shift flawlessly! but now, i have to fight with it most of the times to change, it doesn’t go in easily!

do you think if i change engine oil, it will fix it? how about transmission oil? please provide some detail to your answer and kinda give me step by step instruction PLZ.

any help would be appreciated!

A: I’m assuming you checked the transmission oil? I usually change the fluid when I do the clutch.

No, engine oil has nothing to do with shifting.

Looking for a mazda rx-8? Try the automotive resource Import-Heaven.net

Q: when buying a used Mazda Rx-8 with a manual transmission?
Is there a certain amount of mileage that you shouldn’t buy a car after? a super high # when the transmission may not be good?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com

Q: Turbocharger or supercharger for a mazda rx-8?
I have a 2004 mazda rx-8 automatic so should I put a supercharger or a turbocharger in it which would be better all around?

A: Supercharger because it will make the best use of the 9k redline as it makes its best power at high rpms. That, plus its a whole lot less plumbing.

A turbo is much more complicated to install and if you don’t tune the rotary engine correctly, you’ll run rich and blow your apex seals. That, plus turbos make their best power at lower rpms, and there is no torque at lower rpms on that rotary.

Q: What do you guys know about the 2010 mazda rx-8’s?
I’m practically in love with this car but having trouble convincing my dad into helping me pay for it. (By the way im set for college due to athletics) Can anyone tell me some major benefits to the car? and is 16 city/ 22 highway mpg a good find? any comments and/or concerns would be greatly appreciated.

A: “Can anyone tell me some major benefits to the car?”

None. It’s a sports car. It goes fast. That’s the only benefit, and that’s not something you NEED, just something you want.

“and is 16 city/ 22 highway mpg a good find?”

Not in the slightest, seeing as the average mpg for cars these days is 25mpg or more. Also keep in mind, that’s just the rating. Your actual mpg will be closer to 12-14 city, 18-20 highway. Which is absolutely crappy.

“any comments and/or concerns would be greatly appreciated.”

Go find a practical car, and your dad will likely help out. As it is, you’re buying something you don’t remotely need, and it’s no wonder that he doesn’t want to help.

Q: I have a Mazda RX-8. It is a manual and it wont start. I am told that it may be flooded. Any suggestions?
I would like to avoid the dealership!

A: If u havent already, heres a link for u: http://www.rx8club.com/showthread.php?t=182410&highlight=DIY+flood
This link will tell u step by step on how to deflood it. Ive already had this happen to me 3 times cuz i dont let it warm up on a cold day and leave the engine on for only seconds to park it inside the garage. Try to avoid that. That link saved me over $500 from going to dealer lol. Good Luck

Q: What is the best turbo to put on the Mazda RX-8?
i just got an 05 rx8 and i want to know thats the best turbo and exhaust system to put on.

A: The best turbo depends largely and on your needs and what type of driving you’re doing. If you’re building a dyno queen/drag race car (get another car) or run a GT40 or larger. A great road/race setup would be a GT3071R or GT35R.

Q: does anyone know anything about the 2010 Mazda RX-8 and when its Release Date is?
will there even be a 2010+ RX-8 or iz the RX-7 making a come back?

A: hi,
There is soon to be a RX-8 and i have done some research and i found out that it will be releasing on the 3rd March 2010.
check it out on the web

Q: Will adding a turbo to a Mazda rx-8 void the warranty?
I was wondering because the stock mazda doesn’t have enough power for me.

A: AHAHAHAHAHA,

Yes.

RX-8s are not made with a factory turbo nor does mazda make an after market turbo for the rx8.

Q: What car is similar to an Mazda RX-8?
I really want a RX-8 but I would like a bit better on the gas mileage, What car has similar fun and refinement but with better mpg? preferably 2006 and under.

A: Like Old man Dirt said above, look into a Mazdaspeed6. You can find a good used one for a pretty low price. Good luck!

The Speed6 is all wheel drive, and also turbocharged.

Q: What car should I get a 2007 chevy cobalt ss or a 2004 mazda rx-8.?
How do they compare in speed and safety?

A: You should most definitely get hte RX8!! The Cobalt SS is faster, but the RX8 handles a whole lot better, and is of a much much higher quality. The Mazda would probably last you twice as long as the Chevy, and probably half the cost in repairs.
Good Luck.

Q: where can i find a 2002 Mazda RX-8 for 5000 dollars?
if any one can please show me where i can find a a sports car for 5000 dollars or preferably the 2004 Mazda RX-8
make that $8000 instead

A: wait until 2012 and you’ll find them all over the place.

Q: Lighting under fender vents on a mazda rx-8 legal?
I won an rx-8 and i installed amber/orange LEDs behind the fender vents, would it be legal for me to have them on while driving? I can not find anything on lighting laws besides undercarriage lighting

A: I’m pretty sure it would fall into the same category as undercarriage lights.

Q: Which car is better,2008 Honda civic Si sedan,Nissan 350z,Mazda Rx-8,2005 Hyundai Tiburon,Chevrolet cobalt SS?
Which car is better in all categories like performance, quality etc: 2008 Honda civic Si sedan,
Nissan 350z, Mazda Rx-8, 2005 Hyundai Tiburon, Chevrolet cobalt SS supercharged, or 2005 Toyota celica gts. Which one is the best in all categories?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.enacre.net

Q: i want to install a aftermarket in dash cd player in my 05 mazda rx 8?
can anyone tell me a website or somewhere i can find a mounting bracket kit for less the $400? the cheapest one i found online was for $443 and i dont really want to spend that much. the factory cd changer sucks! im on my third one already

A: Have you tried Crutchfield.com?

Q: How much would insurance be on a used or new Mazda RX-8 as a beginning driver (age 16)? What are the factors?

A: In Alberta, Canada, depending on the value of the car and whether or not you get collision and liability/comprehensive or just liability/comp. With everthing it will cost about 4 to 5 thousand dollars a year, without collision it will be about $2000. Rates are reduced slightly if you have taken driver’s training.

Q: My 2005 Mazda RX 8 won’t start- it may be flooded?
My 2005 Mazda RX 8 won’t start – it turns over- but won’t start. I was told it may be flooded- is there a way to start it without brining it in for service?

A: Yes, you sure CAN flood fuel injected cars. And the Rotary engine is prone to this due to its design.

A rotary can flood if you do a “cold shutdown” of the motor. This is where you start the motor and either stall it or stop it in the very early seconds just after starting. Really efficient fuel burn requires the temperature of the motor to be higher than you see after the first few seconds.

In a Rotary unburnt fuel pools in the bottom of the rotor housing. This drastically thins the oil sealing between the apex seal and the housing. Because of this you lose compression which makes it difficult to start the vehicle. Also, the spark plugs get soaked in fuel making it difficult for them to produce a good spark.

The RX8 manual recommends pushing the gas pedal to the floor (which signals the fuel system to supply no fuel at start-up) and crank the motor for upwards of a minute. This tries to force unburnt fuel out the exhaust port. Then let the engine sit for a minute or so and try starting again.

If this doesn’t work you can pull the plugs and dry them off and inject a bit of engine oil through the spark plug holes and try again.

Or…get the car towed to a Mazda dealership…

Q: What years did the Honda Accords have bad transmission?
I am look for a honda accord with a v6. I heard the transmissions were absolutely horrible. Does anyone know what years the honda accords had bad transmissions and if it was just automatic or manual as well.

A: auto only from 98-02 v6. 4 cylinders are affected to a smaller degree. 03-05 v6 may have problems as well.

Q: Does the XM radio in the new Honda Accords display song title and artist?
I’m looking at Nissan Altimas and Honda Accords. I can’t seem to find an Accord to test drive (coupe, V-6). The Nissan Altima does not display song title or artist on it’s Sirius radio. Does the Accord display song info?

A: 08 Malibu does and the name of the radio station and artist and song that are playing.

Q: What computer do i need to ues for honda accords 95 vtec?
hey there. i need a lil help with my honda accords 95 f22b1 Vtec. i need to know computer type do i need to run Vtec and where can i find a diagram of the engine harness. also what harness is Vtec. i payed for the book to rebuild it .but it does have all the info i need. thank you for any help is need thank you …

A: try haynes on line.

Q: Do the rear side markers on honda accords light up?
Hello, I was just wondering if the rear sidemarkers on the honda accords light up, also do they blink when you turn on the indicator? Thanks!

A: depends on which year. the 94-97 light up but do not blink

Q: do many honda accords from the last 5 years have salvage titles?
im looking on craigslist at used honda accords, and it seems that many of them have salvage titles. are insurance companies quick to call an accord a total loss? if this is the case, would one be worth buying if everything was fixed? i know the price should be lower, but other than that, what do you think? any thoughts on hondas or salvage titles in general would be appreciated.

A: This has less to do with the fact that they are totaled out often and more to do with resale value. A body shop sees dollar signs when a “repairable” Accord comes in because they resale value of them is so high. They are much more likely to take the time to bandage a Honda than a Chevy Cobalt. In any case, stay away from salvage cars. There are so many used cars on the market right now, why get one that someone else has already wrecked?

Q: How reliable are Honda Accords and Civics made after 1999?
I am considering buying a pre-owned car, so I am leaning towards a Honda Accord or Civic. Preferrably one that is less then 10 years old with under 120k. My question is, how long do they last? I know they last alot long then my peice of (beep) Ford Taurus SES. Thanks!

A: Just go get one.

Q: What kinds of discounts does Honda offer on new 2008 Accords?
I’m graduating from college in a month and will be an active duty military member. I’m looking to buy a new car and hoping there are some discounts that may apply to my situation. I have my mind set on the 2008 Honda Accord LX. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

A: The only current Honda incentive is for a lease on the LX automatic; but a lease is not a good option for most consumers.

You can check Honda and other manufactuere’s current incentives at edmunds.com “incentives and rebates” section.

Q: Can I swap my 2000 Honda Accords ULEV engine with a Vtec engine?
My car’s ULEV engine is dead because of a circulation problem, would my 2000 honda Accord be compatible with a VTEC engine, or it’s hard to say without seeing the actual engine for yourself?

A: you can swap another accord engine in it. all depends on how much you are willing to spend. another stock motor can go for as cheap as 300 bucks to 600. you get what you pay for, the higher the price usually means better quality..

Q: Why do 1998-2000 Honda Accords always have one opaque headlight and one clear headlight?
Like this one in the first pic u can see one of the headlights is clear and the other is opaque and that is in every Honda Accord of that age i see…

http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/2037831623.html

Why?

A: I work at a Honda dealer and pretty much all of them “fog” up like that,(usually both headlights) after about 5 or 6 years Civics accords crvs they all do it. It’s oxidation and it’s pretty easy to buff it out and re polish the lens.

Q: What year of Honda Accords are the fastest?
What year of honda accord is the fastest and best to upgrade?

A: If you can get one, look into the Acura TSX. It’s actually just the Honda Accord Euro R in the states.

Q: Anyone have any feedback for me on Honda Accords?
Especially older models. I’m looking at a 1992 Honda Accord for my daughter’s first car. It has 170,000 miles on it but I’ve heard that Hondas are a good running car.

A: All i’ve ever owned were Accords. My first was a 1991 Ex model. I loved it. I never had any problems with it. The only things that were “issues” were there because the previous owner did not keep up with the maintenance like they should’ve. That was well over 100,000 miles.

My second Accord was a 2000 Accord EX with leather. That was also a great car, never had any problems…just changed the oil, rotated tires, regular maintenance.

Now I have a 2006 Accord EX with leather (coupe) and same thing, just regular maintenance…thank God, I’ve never had any problems.

Basically you just need to know how the previous owner cared for the car. There might be issues that you’re not aware of that will pop up unexpectedly and can be costly.

good luck!

Q: What do you think about the new honda accords for a girl?
im looking at the sedan. Im 19 years old a girl and want this car in black do you think its big and manly? Or do you think it would be nice? Its going to be my first brand new car
http://automobiles.honda.com/accord-sedan/
also dont u think civics are too tiny? they say student on them hahahah
do you think its manly? or is it just meee?

A: Accords are not girls cars or guys cars they are very nice thought so you should get it!

Q: Can anyone tell me if Honda Accords have a timing belt, or chain?
I am thinking more and more of buying a Honda Accord, but I’d really like a timing chain, over a belt(very bad experience with belts), I never want to face that night mare again.
I guess Honda owners, or mechanic could best answer this.
Thanks.

A: this is a trick question because older accords used timing belts 80’s – 2002. where as the newer 03+ 4 cylinder uses timing chain, but the newer V6 uses a belt.

Q: Do 2005 and up Honda Accords have built in MPG meter?
I was wondering if 2005 and up Honda Accords have built in MPG meter?

A: No.

Q: Are Honda Accords prone to busted windshields?
My mom is giving me her Honda Accord. She got it in late 2008 and has already replaced the windshield twice due to giant rocks hitting it and make big cracks. Well there is a big crack across the passenger’s side of the glass and she doesn’t want to change it again. We aren’t doing anything wrong but why is it always our car that gets the little nicks on the glass? Does it have something to do with the design of the front of the car and rock bounce off?

A: My experience is that things happen. It may not be the car but the quality of the glass that you have used or the routes that you travel. I had mine for 200k miles and did about 5 total.

Q: Old but still good: What would you choose Subaru STI or Mitsubishi EVO?
I’d like to hear back from you all on the 2 cars. Seems like for 2006 the STI beat the EVO. I drive an 06 Scooby STI now. No mods! It’s a real race car which belongs on the track. Before that i owned Vipers, Corvettes(Z06’s included), Benzes(c55 AMG included), BMW’s(M5 included), Cadillacs(CTS-V included), Acura NSX’s, IROC-Z’s, Mustangs, etc, etc, about 30-40 good performance cars in all, with more than 300hp each. Scooby is not as much fun as the rear-wheel drive cars with over 300hp, but it’s definitely the best handling car I’ve had. Likely better than Lamborghini’s and Ferrari’s(never had them but driven plenty). I’d like to hear back from the serious driving enthusiasts and fans alike – which car do you think is better – EVO or STI, new models. Please check out MotorTrend test of the ‘06 models before you say which is quicker: http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/sedan/112_0512_rally_cars/
YES, I did measure 4.5 0-60 times in my Scooby on stock tires, on the street. Thank you!

A: Subaru’s always have been the race car since the mid-70’s when they first came out with their line of AWD vehicles. You don’t see the EVO as much as you do on a rally course. Why? Because they lack sufficient power in the tranny as well as the tranfer case and suspension. And also the 4G63T motor always has a tendancy to break ALWAYS. The Subaru’s tranny and transaxle configuration give the Subaru the edge in turning at high speed and corner like butter. I prefer Subaru than any other AWD vehicle out there. I also would take a Subaru over any turbocharged car out there. The only thing I dislike on the ‘06 Subarus are the front grill. It is very air restrictive. But anyways, if you are looking for a good rally car or to drive on wicked roads, Subaru is the way to go.

Q: Audi A5? Need info please!?
So I am planning on purchasing a brand new car by the end of winter (beginning of Spring 2010).

And well, I have been shopping around and found some cars I might want to check out.

Top Cars listed for me…

0. 2009 Subaru Legacy Spec B (if they still have it)
1. 2009 Subaru WRX STI
2. 2009 Lexus IS250 with 6 Speed manual (its a 90% no, I talk to lexus and they wont send me one)
3. 2006-2008 Acura TSX with 6 Speed Manual (if I can find one with low mileage a warranty at Acura dealership)
4. 2009-2010 Subaru WRX
5. 1991-2005 Acura NSX (need one with warranty)
6. 2009 Nissan 370Z nismo edition (if I can find one)
7. 2009 Infiniti G37 with 6 Speed manuall

My price range is $35,000 but $45,000 is okay(asking to much).

Just today, I was looking at the Audi Car line to check out the R8 and saw that they have a Coupe!

Its called the Audi A5 or S5??? Im guessing the S5 is faster sinces it was at $56,000 and the A5 was around my price range!

So… if you guys can help give me some info on the A5 that would be nice!

Like…. is it reliable, FWD/RWD/AWD?, How much Horse/Torque, etc…

Just tell me things that I would like to know and may want to buy it cause this car is super sexy!

A: The A5 is essentially a 2-door version of the A4. Audi has used S and RS to denote sport and super sport versions of their cars for some time so yes, the S5 is the higher performance version.

The A5 can be had (in America) with a 211hp/258lbft 2.0 turbo four cylinder or a 265hp/243lbft 3.2L V6. Both have AWD as standard.
The S5 has a 354hp/325lbft 4.2L V8 and all wheel drive as well.
Audi’s are quite reliable but quite expensive to repair when things go wrong. They’re great cars and they’re a LOT of fun to drive.

As a side note, your list of cars is ALLL over the board. number 4 isn’t even into the 35K range, number 3 isn’t even remotely sporty, Number 2 is ignoring the 350 (though lexus doesn’t like manual transmissions so… that stinks) and so on.

I vote for number 5 because getting a rare/hard to find car is immensely satisfying but you may have to do more work to find a good one and keep it in good shape than a brand new but lesser car.

Number 7 is great though as an all around vehicle and don’t discount the BMW 335i.

Q: What cars that I am considering buying are good?
I live in the US and all these cars are affordable to me, as last year in England (Where I used to live) I won a Lexus IS which I sold new. And I am a petrolhead with a good paying salary.

I am after a car that is reliable, fast, luxurious and preferably American.
Cars I want.

Sedans
Acura TL
Cadillac CTS-V
Chevrolet Malibu
Ford Fusion 3.5L
Infiniti M45
Mercedes-Benz C300
Mercedes-Benz CLS 350
Pontiac GXP

Suv’s
Acura ZDX
Porsche Cayenne S
Lexus RX350
Hummer H2T
Hummer H2

Sports
Acura NSX
Dodge Viper
Mercedes-Benz E350 Coupe
Chevrolet Camaro SS
Dodge Challenger
Ford Mustang
Chevrolet Corvette

I like Pick-ups but I am more after a luxury car.
thanks!
Take out the Mustang from the list.
I know that Clarkson said that NSX is a bad handling car but I could just drive it in the city, like at top speed about 40.
And for longer trips, rent a car or buy a 2nd car
Sedans

Acura TL
Cadillac CTS-V
CLS 63 AMG
Pontiac GXP

Suv’s

Cayenne S
Hummer H2T

Sports
Viper

Mustang, Corvettes are everywhere so I want to be different. Camaro is nice but it just isn’t my cup of coffee.Lexus was recommended my a former friend.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: Honda CR-Z PRODUCTION VERSION & details on display at the 2009 Geneva Motor show?
Could this be possible? or would Frankfurt be more likely in September? If it comes out at Frankfurt, would this mean that it would only be on sale early 2010 (rather than late 2009, like what has been the case with past models)? Media reports imply a market launch in late 2009 (i.e around Sep Q4 2009).

Also, does anyone think launching @ Frankfurt would result in it being over shadowed by the 2010 Honda/Acura NSX & the launch of the Acura brand at the Tokyo?

Can anyone confirm the following details on the car:

From the pictures it looks like it will get Honda’s CMBS (a collision avoiding – breaking system), VSA, Engine start button & a gearstick (on the automatic versions) identical or similar to the Honda FCX?

Also when you have a look at the instrument panel, there is a white line on the inside of the tachometer area that starts at approx 6500 RPM (could this indicate the type of engine it will be getting)? Would this then rule out the new L15 & R18 as they rev to 6800.

A: it probably debuts in Tokyo 2009 instead of Geneva. yes, th CR-Z debuts probably among Acura’s launch in Japan, along with th NSX. cant wait till th CR-Z & NSX come. gee, i wish i had mor info about it.

Q: If you were in my position what type of car would you buy and why would you buy it. Please leave details.?
Hi, my name is Angel Colon. I will be turning 19 in April, and I will hopefully be receiving $1200 at the end of my trade completion at the Cleveland Job Corps Academy part of the United States Department of Labor. I am going to have finished the computer repair trade, so that I may become proficient with and repair computers and or networks. But the main problem I am having is deciding on what type of car I want.

I would like in the future to be able to acquire an Acura NSX, Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution XII, Mazda RX-7, Nissan Skyline R34 GTR, Toyota Supra RZ Twin Turbo, and / or the New Nissan GTR. Eventually in my lifetime i would like to have acquired a ride in one of these or own at least some or most of these cars. So that kind of gives you some ideas of which type of cars I have interest in. Having just finished highschool in June of 2009, I went straight into Jop Corps, and am now almost finished with my trade.

Here comes the problem…
I will be looking into going to a different Job Corps in addition to the Cleveland one, one that will teach me how to become an automotive technician.
I have little income until I get out officially and into the “Job World.”
So here again I’m asking for all of the tuners out there to help me out with your opinions, and why you would choose certain cars, because I am definitely a, new to the cars subject.
Please help,
Thank you for you time,

Mr. Angel Colon

A: It should be 4-door, 4-cyls, not sporty. I would prefer Honda or Toyota… First time drivers usually have much more expensive car insurance, and it depends from car. You should compare insurance rates while choosing the car – for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: Exotic cars around $30k?
I am looking around for a new car and was hoping for some suggestions on cars that I may be overlooking. The amount I am wanting to spend varies on the car but I have an upper limit of $40k but would like to stay between the $30k’s or $35’s. I don’t want a car to “modify” or “restore”. I already have a car that fits that need. This has to be an exotic or simi-exotic car not seen every day and is suited for a daily driver (less than 40 miles a day). Some of the cars I have thought about are:

99-01 Porsche 911 non-turbo
96-98 Porsche 911 non-turbo
Lotus Elise
Toyota Supra
Acura NSX
Lexus SC430
1998 Aston Martin DB7
1994-1998 Dodge Viper

Any other suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks

A: BMW M3 2004

*
Had a ‘02 330ci before upgrading to the ‘04 M3. The 330ci was awesome but the M3 is hands down the best car for your money. If you are looking for an ultra high performance luxury car, look no further. There is no other car on the market that can compare when it comes to the price/performance ratio – factor in BMW reputation, quality, and service and you’ve got yourself the ultimate driving machine.(copied from Scott from Portland, OR)

The M3 is truly a gem. For $30k you can pick up a used M3 that outperforms sports cars costing more than twice as much. No other car in the history of sports cars has received as much praise than the M3, and for good reason. The M3 gives you the best of everything in the sports car category. No other sports car will give you the performance, quality, safety and understated styling that the M3 can.

Q: What Car/Bike should I purchase?
I have a range of vehicles Im interested in buying, both old and new, some are cars and others are bikes: A mildly damaged lotus elise with a small loan, a 2008 yamaha R6 with cash, a 1991-93 Acura NSX with a medium loan, a 97-2000 C5 corvette with small loan, a 2007-08 cbr600rr with cash, a honda s2000 with a small loan, a 1993-94 Mazda RX7 with cash? Cant decide between these possibilities.

A: i would go with the s2000 or the nsx but its up to you

Q: Why do people look down upon hondas?
the new j-series engines are 2000+ yr Honda’s and Acuras most new swaps are being taken out of the 02-04 Odyssey 240hp and i think 242ft/lbs of torque and people make these swaps sexy as hell you guys should check it out on hondatuning.com i just also i wanna ask why do people look down upon hondas when time after time we have proved our selfs to every other car company that there wrong we’ve had a super car since da early 90’s and most people dont know what it is (NSX) and people dont even think acura and honda are connected this is for you guys who hate on great cars and are afraid to admit that honda may not be the best but we are great

A: Wow. More penis-envy retards comparing cars by the numbers…

No, the NSX is not quicker than a Vette. No, the numbers are not better than the Vette. But guess what, if the NSX wasn’t around in 91, your Vette would still exhibit shitty build interior quality, breakdown every 5k miles and require maitnenance every 3000 miles.

In fact, the NSX is greater than the car the numbers say it to be. The NSX revolutionzed the supercar industry. In fact, Gordan Murray, the famed designer of the McLaren F1 super car used an NSX as the benchmark car for his F1. Not a Ferrari, not a Porsche, not a Lambo, and surely not a Vette.

http://www.lamborghini-talk.com/vbforum/f29/gordon-murrary-says-mclaren-f1s-benchmark-nsx-11234/

I find that most people in these types of argument only talk about the numbers and probably don’t even know how to drive a car. See you at the race track…if you even know how to drive…

Q: What happened to good import cars???
I have been looking around for a good sports/tunner import car, i’m not a serious buyer or anything just, I have been noticing all the new imports are not the best looking…or performing. Heres a few examples…

Nissan-Has the 350Z, the only good car they make…what happened to the skyline??? They canceled it and turned it into a “GT-R” which looks like….Mr. Potato head.

Honda/acura-Used to have the Integra, the RSX, NSX and The older civics were nice cars. Now? They have the new civic…okay its a better performance car, but who wants to be seen driving one of those silly looking things? The only thing honda has that is worth a darn is a S2000, and it is a good car.

Mazda-RX-7=excelent. RX-8=ugh….RX-7=dead. RX-8=alive

Toyota-Celica, Supra, MR-2, all great cars…now dead. But hey, nobody wants those, people all want Prius’s

Hyundai-well I have to admit I dont know too much about them…but as far as I can tell they make the tiburon…and it appears to be a okay car.

Mitsubishi-Had the older eclipses that were nice….I cant stand the garbage new ones. Thank god they still make the Lancer evo.

Subaru-I have never like there only sports car…The Impreza WRX sti, but still it was a nice preforming car, that looked good. The new one? all I have to say is “Ha”, who wants a hatchback? not me…thats for sure.

So what are these car designers thinking??? Almost all of the new cars look hideous. I can see why the performance is going down…less bhp=better fuel efficiency. But why in the name of god would they make them look like…they do right now?

A: Nissan also makes the Altima Coupe 3.5 V6 and the GTR is a freaking awesome, probably the best street legal car in production under $200,000…and its only $75,000.

Toyota turned the Celica into a Scion TC, they are only interested in high volume sales, something their coupes never could produce.
You didn’t even mention the hot Lexus IS250/350/F models.

Honda Accord Coupe V6 is very hot, better then the Altima coupe even.

Hyundai has a hot new coupe coming out called the Genesis coupe. It will be RWD with 2 engine options (I4 turbo 215HP, 3.8 V6 300HP) and looks great so far. http://www.hyundaiusa.com

I guess you don’t consider European cars to be imports, so I won’t mention them.

Q: I’m getting a choice of cars here… but IDK which to buy!?
I’ve been working my butt off for the past 3years for my parents… and now they want to buy me a car… a $$$ car!!!

I would love to own one of the cars listed down there… but I keep on questioning myself about them!

2004-08 Acura TSX (6 Speed Manual) Love it but way to hard to find a Stick Shift and on low Milage with a good price!

2008 Acura Tl Type S (6 Speed Manual) Maybe… It’s not even I-Vtec and a DOCH engine!

2006 Acura RSX Type S (6 Speed Manual) Always dream of having one but the insurances cost to much… I rather buy a car that cost more and still pay the same insurances cost or less…

2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 9 (5 or 6 Speed Manual) IDK about Mitsubishi.. most parts are made from American companies

2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 10 (6 Speed Manual) IDK about Mitsubishi.. most parts are made from American companies

1995 Nissan Skyline GT-R R33 (5 Speed Manual) Maybe… gotta do more research!

2008 Honda S2000 (6 Speed Manual) IDK… haven’t own a RWD car yet…. It might suck in the snow time!

2007 Infiniti G35 (6 Speed Manual) I love the exterior but the interior sucks! It’s a car thats consider a luxary when the interior comfort and design so CHEAP!

2009 Infiniti G37 (6 Speed Manual) kind of NEW and no bugs to be found yet on the 6 speed modle… The Japanese say this car sucks! But why?

2007 Lexus IS300 (5 or 6 Speed Manual) Maybe not because most are over mileage… but I’ve always wanted one!

1993-1998 Toyota Supra (5 or 6 Speed Manual) Love to have one but I rather drive a Skyline or a NSX then a Supra…

2005 Lotus Exige (6 Speed Manual) I would love to own this, but it’s so hard to find one used!

    * yeah… you could see that I’m not a fan of the American cars (the cars are trouble and the companies… are going to die soon)… and no, I don’t want a German car (the engine burns up if you take far trips). p.s. I know the Lotus is a German/British car but it has a Toyota Engine!!!

A: 2007 Lexus IS, or the TSX

The Infiniti, Supra, Lotus, EVO, and RSX type S are the most expensive cars to insure on the road. After a couple of years, it wont even be worth insuring anymore!

the TSX is pretty new and good on miles, so it’ll last you a while. Its fun to drive, stylish, and keeps resale value. Theres a ton of aftermarket parts for acuras, so your insurance will be decent, and you can find lots of parts and body kits for it, and it was a pretty popular car, so you can find a bunch of them used for a good price

The TL is a third option too, if you like less sporty, and more luxurious.

The IS is the same as the TSX basically. If they’re both the same price, go for the one with the lower miles

Q: NSX or new sports car?
A choice here to pick…

1991-2002 Acura NSX

or a brand new sports car?

list I may be looking at:
09 G37
09 BWM M3
09 S2000
or others you guys can point out!

btw… I always wanted a NSX but its used and its a expensive… dont know if its wroth my cash….

A: I guess josh doesn’t know they aren’t making the NSX any longer. I would go for the NSX if it shows evidence of good care and maintenance.

A: S5 is AWD and it’s a sporty car. It’s sort of similar to the R8 because of the led lights and some parts they have the same. The STi and G37 sound nice.

A: My choice would be the NSX.

Japanese classic supercar with Honda reliability and resale value.

It is still faster than the new G37 and S2000, but slower than the new BMW M3.

Looking for a new bmw m3? Try the automotive resource Import-Heaven.net

Q: Depreciation on a new bmw m3 coupe?
Whats the depreciation on a brand new 2008 bmw m3 coupe? Thanks.

A: Too new to tell its all based on supply vs demand when you trade it in. If you are concerned with that then go buy something else that will hold its value for sure.

Hopefully you get it and keep it mint then you will definitely get over market value for the car, at least that what is happening for older M3s.

If you look on Auto Trader there are some used already for 10g’s less than new. Perhaps do a used 08 M3?

Q: How much does the new BMW M3 cost fully loaded?

A: Actually there is no 2007 M3. The 2008 supposedly will be available in USA in April. Everyone wants to know what the price will be. Some dealers will want thousands above sticker, and some suckers will pay it. I didn’t when I bought my E46.

Q: Quick question about the new bmw m3?
Do the back windows of the new 08-09 bmw m3 coupe go down?

A: nope i dont think so, you should still get it tho.. or check out the “BMW Green M1 Supercar” coming out in 2012….its sick..

Q: I’m buying a new BMW M3 sedan or the new Lexus IS-f, I’m a high school student and need help deciding

A: This is a no brainer. The BMW M3 is the ultimate driving machine, the IS-F is an imitator with a horribly-shaped hood. Not to mention that the only transmission choice for the Lexus is an automatic. Do NOT buy a BMW M3 with a freakin’ automatic transmission. A car like that should have a manual. If you don’t know how to drive one, learn. They’re way more fun. And, not to be nosy and not that it’s any of my business, but why the hell would a high-school student buy such an expensive car? You know jealous people are just going to key the crap out of it in the school parking lot, right? And more than likely, since you’re a fairly new driver with a high-powered machine like these cars…you will probably total it within a year. You should probably just get a used 3 Series or a Volkswagen Jetta VR6 or something. They’re plenty fast and luxurious.
In all honesty, I think you’re probably just full of crap. Nobody sane buys their kid a 70 thousand dollar car, and no high-school student has that kind of money. You’re probably a bored 13-year-old just wondering what kind of response you’ll get to this question. But if you are legitimate, you at least have my 2 cents.

Q: I just bought a new 2010 BMW M3 and would like to put a sport exhaust system on it. Is Remus the best?
i also want to boost efficiency.

A: I don’t think remus is the best for this sort of car, remus is more for chipper cars with less horsepower..
I would suggest you look at Meisterschaft GT or GT2 exhaust or Eisenmann..

In the end it depends what sound you like better I will give you some youtube links so you can hear them…

Meisterschaft GT – http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bw3gE2H_32U&feature=related

GT2 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VcKUPNNbcGs&feature=related

Eisenmann http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SVM6fWjNVEk

Q: Which is faster new bmw m3, or audi rs4?
i saw a video where both cars it says is 0-60 in 4.8 but the m3 kills the rs4 and i thought the older ‘06 m3 is 4.8 shouldn’t new v8 m3 be faster, well here is the video i saw

http://carversation.com/2007/12/18/audi-rs4-vs-bmw-m3-e92/

A: I wouldn’t say the M3 killed the Audi, but it did seem to be ahead of it. One is all wheel drive and the other rear only, so they will have different driving characteristics. In one situation the BMW might be faster (straight-line) and in another the Audi (the turns). It seemed to me the Audi was crowding the BMW on just about every turn. Its hard to tell from that video because its more of an exhibition than a real race. Nice cars though.

Q: CLK 550 coupe vs. BMW M3 coupe which one to buy (new or used)?
I know on MBUSA.com is says 0-60 in 5.1, but I think it can do more with the ESP turned off. The new BMW M3 coupe says 0-60 in 4.7, but I can”t help but think that the CLK 550 is only 16pds heavier, has much more rpm’s, lb-ft of hp and a much bigger engine, in theory shouldn’t it be faster than this 4.7 car?

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com

Q: how much will a slight scratch on a new white bmw m3’s hood cost?
and what should be used to buff it out?

A: Depending on the severity of the scratch, length, depth, you can try a few different approaches.

1. wax over it, it may be very shallow.

2. Get a good quality swirl remover/polish. Nothing too abrasive. Go to town with a cloth and be sure to rub only in one direction…front to back/back front or side to side. This will limit the number of swirls you will create.

3. Same polish with a random orbit or normal buffer. Be careful with this one, you can eat through a lot of layers very quickly.

4. Maybe step up to a slightly more abrasive polish.

5. Take it to a pro and have them try and/or repaint.

To have a detailer take out the scratch and only the scratch you are probably looking at around $50 maybe less. To have it repainted you are in the $150+ range if it’s the whole hood.

Q: New BMW M3?
Will the new BMW M3 come with a DCT (auto transmition)?
I read that the convertible will come with a DCT (auto transmition) but will the coupe and/or sedan come with DCT?

A: Yes DCT will be able for both coupe/sedan around this early spring-summer in the U.S.A. Get manual instead =p you can control your car better and I personally think it sounds better.

Q: on the new bmw m3 do you have to put a destination oon the nav to drive it and what is connected drive system?

A: no man if it were then the Car would be a Failure.

and Connected Drive System is nothing its just the same as the one in the M5 M6 and 2005+ 7 series but with a few extra tricks up its sleves, nothing special.

yea if BMW have their new Auto Drive option in cars it’d be amazing really, that system will do a full smoking full throttle lap around a circuit once the Sat Nav Redar has recorded the Previous Lap which has to be done manually.

Q: CLK 550 vs. BMW M3 which one should I buy? (brand new or used?)?
I know on MBUSA.com is says 0-60 in 5.1, but I think it can do more with the ESP turned off. The new BMW M3 coupe says 0-60 in 4.7, but I can”t help but think that the CLK 550 is only 16pds heavier, has much more rpm’s, lb-ft of hp and a much bigger engine, in theory shouldn’t it be faster than this 4.7 car?

A: BMW M3 (NEW)

Q: The New BMW M3!?
1. When will the new BMW M3 be available in the US?
2. How much will it cost?
3. If I decide to lease it, how much can I expect to pay per month?

I want to get this baby in Pearly White!

A: the car is an ‘08, should be here no later than Octorber.

it will cost approximately 10% more than the ‘06 M3 (there was no 07 m3) would would make it about $58,000

if you lease it it will probably cost around 500-800 depending on the annual miles, options, down payment, etc.

GOOD LUCK. THATS GOING TO BE ONE SWEET RIDE!

Q: i bought a new 2008 bmw m3 coupe i got a couple of questions?
should i give the car back and get a bmw 335i coupe or any other type of car that would match the performance of the m3???

A: I would agree with many of your anticipations. However, there are a couple of consequences I’d have with that.

The new ///M3 and the new 335i are similar in performance I’ll tell you that much. The 335i chomps on less gas, it’s quieter, and also it’s very luxurious. However, the downside is that the 335i is a tad slower than the ///M3 and it’s not as loud.

Also, if you would drive both cars, you would analyze and observe that the 335i doesn’t give you that throttle response the ///M3 provides. It also doesn’t turn as many heads nor does it have the exhaust noise as the ///M3.

Hope this helps!~~~

Q: help i’m thinking of buying the new bmw m3?
Hi, i’m looking to buy a new car a 2009 bmw m3 convertible. I was wondering if it’s worth the 80k price tag, or should i just get the 2009 mercedes benz sl63 amg?

I mean i read it goes 0-60 in 5.3 secs that’s real slow. The benz time in 0-60 is 4.6 sec. Just like the Camaro ss or does anybody know a cool fast car with a hardtop convertible under 120k?

A: if you want speed, go nissan GTR. Its around 80k.

A: I have always been a fan of the m3s also but your right about that price tag, its just too much. It is not worth it imo. I have looked around at other cars and for under 80k you can almost have any car you want. There is only a handful of cars above 120k you can get a dodge viper for under 100k 600hp / 560lbs of torque…… look around dont rush on the m3
