Q: Do you think the new Mitsubishi Eclipse is a girls car?
I’m looking at getting a new car and I’ve pretty much fallen in love with the new Eclipses. They’re fast, I like the way they sit, and I want it in black. Just wondering what the general consensus is if you think they’re a chick car. I know certain colors definitely would place it in this catagory, but what if I get it in black?
I drive a Cougar right now, which I do honestly love, but I get the chick comment all the time.
A: I vote girly. Guys should drive something with muscle, like a mustang or charger.
I know Eclipses can be fast, but they defiantly are not a “tough” car.

I’ve been thinking about getting that car for weeks and never heard anything negative about it! Just wanted to know if anyone knows any common problem with the new eclipse.

A: test drove one and the back window is really small and u cant see anything through it…its hard for high way driving or anyother kind of driving, plus i dont like the bucket seats, i know its sports car but its way to lower, plus if arent getting gt/v6 its not worth money…happens to be very slow, but i love the design, the concept would had been more better but, they did alright…but id stick with my 01 mitsubishi eclipse gt

A: Dealership could care less, it is the finance company you have to impress. As long as you can show that you monthly bills will not exceed your income by a certain percent, they will do the loan based on your credit too.

where can i get a new transmission for my 2002 Mitsubishi eclipse 3.0 L v6 and it is automatic tiptronic and how long u think my car will last right now i have 84,700 miles and i always maintain my oil changes.
A: You can get a rebuilt transmission installed at a transmission shop. National chains include AAMCO and Cottman Transmission Centers. You can look for a used transmission at a junkyard/auto salvage yard. I can’t determine how long your car will last – you need to change not only the oil, but all the fluids (including the transmission fluid), filters, spark plugs, belts, and hoses regularly. My mother had a 2000 Galant (since given to a relative) that now has over 136,000 miles (maintained by me). In my opinion, it is one of the easiest cars to maintain.
Q: what are the minor differences between the new (2006 or newer) mitsubishi eclipse gs and gt models?
I was going to purchase a used vehicle and liked the new eclipse models. I know the difference in horsepower and engine size. I was leaning on a GS model because i wanted a vehicle with better gas milage than a 6 cylinder model. I have questions such as : can you put a spoiler on a GS model and does it have cruise control. What types of options does the gs model leave out? I wish they would make a fully loaded version with a 4 cylinder but thats unreallistic.
A: Aside from the obvious engine sizes, HP etc, there are some other differences. Here is what the GS lacks that the GT has:
foglights, 7 spoke rims, stainless steel exhaust tip, sunroof, traction control, outside temp gauge & compass, these are all I can think of, cosmetically they look a like unless you know what to look for. The GS does have cruise control and there are different packages, sun & sound for example that feature the sunroof & premium stereo ( that comes standard on both spyder’s). The body is identical so any kind of spoilers, bodykits etc will work on either the GS or GT models.
I have a GT spyder but have driven the GS as well and it is still very fast and torquey. Good luck with your purchase..

Q: I need a new front end for my 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse GS?
My front end bumber has almost been literally ripped off by various parking curbs.. I drive a 2003 Mitsubishi eclipse GS, and I need a new bumber with flood light hubs.. How much would that cost and where is the cheapest place where I can find a new standard front end ? Is it possible for whoever to mail a new bumber to me in florida?
A: Not sure on the prices for it but you should be able to find a cheap, used one that can be shipping to you using a site called U Need A Part, http://www.uneedapart.com. They will send your request to hundreds of salvage yards across the country who in turn will respond back with prices. Worked great when I needed parts for my Jetta =) Hope this helps you out!

A: hrms… i think the car is ugly as hell… it looks like a 2nd generation mixed with a 3rd generation… its a mutt… if you look and compare it… it has a similar front end and rear end to the second generations and the middle of the car resembles the third generation… i dont care much for the interior either… i think it looks too plain… the mivec motor is a plus though… mitsubishi screwed up when they got rid of the gs-t and gsx’s… but it would make sense since the evolutions are in the US now… but not everybody has 40g’s to spend on a car… a new mitsubishi evolution IX MR is roughly $42,000 after tax and title… plus the weight of these beefy cars makes them slow… even though they have some power… if you guys plan on buying one… just wait and see if they release the Ralliart Version… i doubt it… but it would be nice… look it up… it looks a LOT nicer… even though it is only a concept

I have a 1996 mitsubishi eclipse with 115,000 miles on it. It runs pretty good and I was planning on going to N.Y with it but a lot of people tell me it will ruin my car if I take it there. Also if it can make it is there any things I should do to the car before going on the trip???
A: yes there is a couple things that you should do before taken a trip that far and that long and that’s a Lot of miles on a car but there isn’t any real reason it shouldn’t make it with no problem all you have to do is change the spark plugs and sparkplug wires with some good one that will last under heat and change the oil and filter and air filter and check the air pressure in all 4 tires and make shure you have a jack and a spare and that the radiator is cleaned out and has clean antifreeze in it and install anew thermostat if needed and is advised to if it hasn’t been changed in a very long time and make sure the breaks are working good and hasn’t gote any wourped spots and uneven areas on the rotors and that the break pads and shoes have enough pad and shoe left for a trip like that and you can put some fuel cleaner inthe gas tank too so that it will clkean the injectors while you are driveing down the road so good luck and drive safe and becareful and remember this ok always watch out for the other guy cause you never know what the other driver is thinking ok see yaaaaaaaaaa….
