Q: Worth buying a used toyota supra with over 100 k miles even if going to be maintained well?

A: yes if you stay with this years, but they wont be cheap, even if they have a lot of miles.
they are becoming the Japanese muscle car to have.
keep in mind parts are very expensive and hard to find, but if you have the money go for it.

A: No since you have no idea if the oil was changed more than every 20,000 miles or not. If the original owner drove it like a maniac that will also mean it’s useful life is nearly over.
Q: I want to buy a 93-98 Toyota Supra MKIV. Can I trust a used Supra?
I want to buy a Toyota Supra MKIV, but all I have found are used ones. I am still going to work on the engine and body, but can I trust a used Supra?
A: Depends on how the previous owner(s) treated the car. If they raced the hell out of it and never maintenenced it then there will be problems behind problems. I had a supra but it wasn’t well taken care of before me so 2 head gaskets, engine rebuild, then a whole other engine put in didn’t help. So anyway if there were problems that weren’t taken care of it has a chain effect which will never be completely fixed.

A: You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carquotes.fateback.com
Q: Toyota Supra Twin Turbo – How Much Is The Toyota Supra (MK4) At Used Car Auctions In Australia?
I’m in Brisbane, Australia.
A: Go for the 1994 Toyota Supra Twin Turbo or the 1997 edition. They’re both value for money.
Among the most sought-after models at used car auctions, Toyota Supra 1993, 1994, 1997 & 1998 editions are the prime Mark 4 (MKIV) cars — alongside Nissan and Mazda from the 1991 to 2007 period. (The Mark 4 Supra Twin Turbo relates to the 1993-1998 period.)
Toyota Supra RZ / SZ, Twin Turbo & Targa are the popular models in Australian / Japanese used car auctions. Typical FOB import prices for used Toyota cars are as follows (drawn from auction / dealer data — Note that Sydney is the major entry point for Japanese car imports into Australia):
Toyota Supra Twin Turbo
• 1997 Supra | NSW – Sydney >> $16,990
• 1994 Supra | VIC – Sydney >> $16,999
• 1994 Supra | QLD – Brisbane >> $19,990
Toyota Supra JZA80 RZ
• 1996 Supra | NSW – Sydney >> $18,999
• 1996 Supra | VIC – Melbourne >> $22,999
• 1995 Supra | SA – Adelaide >> $16,990
Toyota Supra JZA80 SZ
• 1997 Supra | NSW – Sydney >> $16,990
• 1994 Supra | NSW – Newcastle >> $15,990
• 1995 Supra | QLD – Brisbane >> $16,990

Q: buying a 1990 Toyota Supra Turbo?
I’m thinking about buying a used toyota supra turbo from a private owner and was wondering what type of questions to ask and wat to look out for on the car. and general information like how well the turbo’s last over time and overall preformance of the car over time.
A: well its awesome car i have one my self you need to ask first it it has had a head gasket done yet that is the main thing. then just normal things about a used car how many miles and thing like that i would like to see the ad if you have it and mabey a pic with his asking price to help you get a good deal.
Q: What is the average life of a toyota supra’s engine?
I am looking into a used supra and am wandering what the cut off i should look at pertaining to milage. There plenty of 93’s out there w/ around 140,000 miles for about 17,500$
A: It all depends on how it was cared for, and driven, before you got it- Quick & easiest(also least reliable)- take oil fill cap off, look inside, and smell it- everything black/real dark ? smell “burnt” ? go to another one. With decent care, and not TOO much racing it, you should see 220-280K- was one in my area last month @ the hope chest (non-profit org.) for $1500 !! (1996, turbo, 145K, pretty clean-except interior !)
Q: WHICH OIL TO USE FOR TOYOTA SUPRA 1988 TURBO?
I have a 1988 supra turbo, what oil weight should I use? 10w30?…also, i always use full synthetic on my cars, so is it OK to use Full synthetic on this supra too?
A: you may use 20W50,
if weather temp will be around 30*F to above 80*F
if weather temp is from around 40*f and going down to 0*F use 5w50 or 5w40
the higher the temp, the higher viscosity, for winter it should be lower viscosity
for your car, the age must be considered too.. if overhauling done already, with hot temp, use the 20w50, most japanese cars use that rating..whether turbo or not..
use conventional oil only with classification of SL, SM .. .somewhere that range. but no SD,
Q: What grade of motor oil does a 1986 toyota supra use non turbo motor? 10w30 or 10w40?
A: The lower number in oil grading is the viscosity when cold, so 10w30 and 10w40 will have the same characteristics for a cold start.
The higher number is the viscosity when hot, so the 10w40 would be preferred for engines in warmer areas and for cars that do a lot of high speed driving.
So I would go with the 10w40 due to it being a high performance car (and not due to it’s age). Friction is an engine killer and that alone is reason enough.
Q: Can you use Toyota Celica seat covers for Toyota Supra seats?
A: Most likely, no. In our database, we show two different seat patterns for each of the different vehicles. Not too mention a few variations with different years.
If it is a custom cover, I’d say no. If it is a universal fit, then maybe, as some universal covers stretch to fit a wider variety of seats. Going Universal though, you sacrifice durability. They aren’t the most durable covers. Hope this helps.
Q: What would be a some convincing reasons for buying a 1985 toyota celcia supra?
I’m 17 and trying to convince my parents to get a used 1985 supra. But so far the only halfway decent reason I have for convincing them to get it is that it has 2 seats so I won’t be able to go over the maximum amount of people I’m legally allowed to have in my car.
Anything else useful? Like crash test rating or gas mileage?
I’ll take anything. Tell me something halfway unique to this car and I’ll try and find a way to put a positive spin on it.
A: This would be a good car choice. I have had 4 1985 Supras. I am currently driving a 1984 5 speed with 220K on it.
Here are the good points about the car.
1 My insurance company rates it as a sub compact so insurance is cheap.
2. The car get around 19 mpg city and about 27 mpg hwy.
3. The car will go at least 300K with just normal maintenance, my daily driver has 220K on it and I still drive it out of town.
4 It is soon to be a classic, and prices for good used 1983 – 1985 Supras are going up
5 Maintenance is low, just do an oil change every 4K and a timing belt every 100k. Tune ups about 75K with platinum plugs, clutch every 175K.
6 There is a website dedicated to the car and you can network with other owners www.celicasupra.com
Hope this helps. If you like classic cars this one will be a hit in about 2 years. I get complimenets on mine everywhere I go.
ALSO
Every year in Las Vegas we have a SUPRA convention where owners form all over the nation gather to show off, drag race and get trophies on thier cars. There are other regional events also that includes dyno runs, road racing ( Texas) group hwy cruise etc.

Q: Does this Supra sound too good to be true?
I love this car. What is you all’s view on this ad? I know its legit but do you think this car was abused?

A: hmmm lets see a supra, with racing components and a brand new engine…. YEAH IT WAS BEAT TO HELL.
It was raced, blew the engine, and now they are trying to get rid of it.
